A meow in the dark

Today's blog post is going to be a short one. Fluffy, like most cat's I've known, was a creature of the night. I'm not exactly sure what she did all night long. However, I know she would get bored at times. Fluffy would get me up at night and it wasn't just once, it would be multiple times throughout the night. It was always this little furry face that would pop up next to my head and look at me and this little meow would come out to wake me up. Truth be told, I could hear her coming most of the times and her claws pulling her onto the sheets. I pretty much never would stop her. I found it rather funny and enjoyable. She seemed to think she was hungry or needed attention.

To solve what we thought was the hunger issue, we had a timer for her food set to go off at 2:00 AM. It sort of solved the issue with wanting to eat, but like clockwork she would wake me up eight minutes later. The only thing I could think of was she was bored. We did borrow a baby gate to help stop her waking me up. It worked for the most part, but at times I could hear her meow or she might even knock over the gate scaring herself and waking me up in the process. I was used to getting up in the middle of night at this point and at times I could see her sleeping right next to the gate. I would feel bad and get up and go give here some pets and some food and just leave the gate down.

There were times that she would sleep with us in bed. That might last a few hours and then she would wake up. She would walk over my stomach and go up my right side to my head and look at me and meow and jump down. I got the message and got up. Not once did I complain. I miss those middle of the night wake up calls and wouldn't have traded that for anything in world.
